Lexie Chirpich is a sophomore health science major with a minor in psychology from Kansas City, Missouri. She is a SHarP Scholar for the physical therapy program at Mizzou and plans on attending the PT school here after graduation. She also is a student in Mizzou Honors College.
“I chose to come to Mizzou because of my family ties and the endless amount of opportunities available,” Lexie says. “Having my great grandmother, my grandmother, and both of my parents all attend Mizzou has allowed me to bleed black and gold since I was born. Not only do I have this personal connection, but Mizzou has provided me with so many opportunities to aid me in my career path, allow me to join new clubs, and make connections that will last a lifetime.”
In addition to serving on the School of Health Professions Student Ambassador Leadership Team, Lexie is a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority, Bluford Hall Government, and volunteers with the Mizzou Adaptive Gymnastics Program.
Why should students choose Mizzou?
Mizzou has always been a family tradition for me. My great grandmother, grandmother, parents, aunts, uncles, and older sister have all attended Mizzou. I’ve been bleeding black and gold since I was born!
What residence hall did you live in? Were you in a FIG (Freshman Interest Group)?
I lived in Bluford Hall freshman year and yes, I was in a health science FIG. I cannot recommend partaking in a FIG enough! It was so beneficial to me in my first semester here.
What’s your favorite Mizzou club/organization?
Not to be biased, but my favorite organization is the SHP Ambassador Team. I have met some amazing people and have made some beneficial connections.
What is your favorite ice cream shop in CoMo?
Andy’s or Sparky’s — it is a hard choice for me to make, as both are an excellent option!
What is your favorite coffee shop in CoMo?
Starbucks — we have two on-campus and one downtown, so it’s always an easy option!
