Gilliane is sophomore health science major with a wellness minor from Houston, Texas. She is a SHarP Scholar for the physical therapy program at Mizzou.
“I have known for a while that I was interested in Physical Therapy,” Gilliane says, “but the health science program at Mizzou has taught me there is so much more to the health care system and has made me mindful of the professions I will be working with. In addition, I genuinely believe that Mizzou fosters the perfect environment for me to balance my passions in health and wellness while getting involved in other organizations and with other interests.”
Gilliane enjoys traveling and is involved in Chi Omega, Mizzou Alternative Breaks, and the Adaptive Gymnastics program. Gilliane also works at the Mizzou Student Center.
When did you know Mizzou was “the one”?
When I came over the summer it just all felt right. I could not wait until school started in the fall and after even a short time at Mizzou I could not imagine being any where else.
What’s your favorite place to eat in CoMo?
My favorite place to eat is the Broadway Diner. It’s super cute and always has great service and food.
What’s your favorite free-time activity?
My favorite free-time activity would either be reading or watching a movie. I had a lot of assigned books last semester that I found super interesting because they were related to health.
