Carolyn Russell is a freshman health science major from Chicago, Illinois. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school in pursuit of a degree in either occupational therapy or speech, language and hearing sciences. Carolyn someday hopes to move somewhere warm and work with children at an elementary school.
Carolyn suggests incoming students get involved in campus life as much as possible.
“I have met some of my best friends from joining organizations on campus,” she says. “Step out of your comfort zone and try things you never have before. Mizzou offers so many amazing organizations that fit everyone’s hobbies and needs. Being from Chicago, I was worried about being so far from home, but getting involved has made Mizzou feel like my home away from home.”
In addition to serving on the School of Health Professions Student Ambassador Leadership Team, Carolyn is a member of the Love Your Melon Crew and the Adaptive Gymnastics program at Mizzou.
