Get Involved

MIZ YOUThe School of Health Professions offers multiple co-curricular opportunities for students interested in service, leadership, professional development and social engagement.

Hands-on learning

The SHP Student Ambassador leadership team is involved with recruitment, outreach and community service. Programs like Adapted Gymnastics offer students the opportunity to volunteer alongside students, faculty and staff in SHP.

Undergraduate research in SHP pairs students with faculty mentors and their research projects. The SHP Career Services office offers a wide range of professional development workshops. Academic departments also offer professional student organizations, and the Department of Health Science’s Office of Experiential Learning facilitates Alternative Break, Study Abroad, the Peer Mentor Program and coordinates internships for DHS students.

Your academic adviser, SHP peer advisers and professors can be excellent resources if you would like to discuss valuable co-curricular opportunities.

Student organizations

Health Professions students at all levels and majors can join Sigma Eta Rho and Student Council. There are also program-specific organizations where you can connect with students who share your major.
