Botezatu and Prost Named SHP Catalyst Award Recipients Congratulations to Drs. Roxana Botezatu, Assistant Professor in Communication Science and Disorders, and Evan Prost, Assistant Teaching Professor in Physical Therapy, for being recipients of the SHP Catalyst Award funding. Botezatu’s proposal was titled, “Cognitive Mechanism Linking Language Production and Comprehension in Bilinguals.” Her research will explore further how we are able to rapidly recognize the words that we hear in speech. Prost’s submission was titled, “Do walking poles improve gait parameters of community dwelling older adults?” His research will explore how the use of walking poles may improve gait parameters, increase physical activity, and decrease fall risk among community dwelling older adults. The Catalyst Award provides funding for research projects that enhance the scholarly activities of SHP faculty and improve the success of extramural grant applications.
