The Catalyst Award provides funding for research projects that enhance the scholarly activities of SHP faculty and improve the success of extramural grant applications. The Catalyst Award is designed to provide funding for research projects that will be used as pilot data for extramural grant proposals. Tenured, tenure track, and non-tenure track faculty may apply. Awards of up to $6,000 may be requested. Due March 1 of each year.
Faculty Scholarship Facilitation Award
These awards are designed to promote the scholarly activities of tenured, tenure-track, and non-tenure track faculty. Scholarship is broadly defined but generally includes creative or innovative work that is valued by peers and communicated outside the institution. Awards up to $1,250 may be requested. Due March 1 of each year.
SHP Research Facilitation Fund Award
The Research Facilitation Fund is designed to promote the research and scholarship needs of SHP faculty. Requests may include, but are not limited to, manuscript printing costs in reputable journals, faculty member attendance at select conferences, workshops, or partnership meetings that have a high potential to result in extramural funding, purchase of essential equipment that could not be purchased otherwise, external reviews of major grant proposals, and augmentation of pilot project awards to facilitate success in obtaining external funding. This funding is not available for faculty salary or for computer equipment that is typically purchased by departments. Applications may be made at any time and amounts typically have ranged from $250 – $3,000.
International Travel Award
One $1,000 award to support travel to an international conference where the faculty member is making a presentation. Please contact Dr. Judith Goodman if you plan to apply for this award.
