Public Health Book Club

Posted in Public Health

Public Health Club Hosts Book Club On Tuesday, November 14 at 5:00 PM students, faculty, and staff from all over campus gathered at the Student Center to discuss the book Evicted by Matthew Desmond. The book explores the stories of eight families living in Milwaukee who are struggling to survive. Where once eviction was rare, it is now more common as the cost of rent these days can consume over half of a family's income (evictedbook.com/books/evi...). The book is based on years of research and fieldwork, and readers of the book are exposed to what it means to live in extreme poverty. https://youtu.be/2ovyccOXyoQ The book club event was sponsored by the School of Health Professions Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
