Reducing COVID-19 Related Disability in Rural Community-Dwelling Older Adults Using Smart Technology

We are recruiting older adults to take part in a year-long study. Participants will have a sensor system installed in their home for a year and receive a tailored intervention to reduce disability and improve quality of life. Individuals should be over the age of 65, live in a rural area of Missouri, and have difficulty with one or more areas of their daily life (such as getting in and out of the shower).

Researching virtual treatment for stroke

LSVT-BIG is an exercise-based therapeutic intervention that improves movement and functioning in Parkinson’s disease and may be effective for stroke survivors. This study includes treatment sessions from the comfort of your home at no cost! Participants will have had a stroke with arm/hand weakness. You will complete 16 one-hour treatment sessions virtually from the comfort of their home and visit the University of Missouri three times. All equipment will be provided.
