Dear DHS Alumni & Friends, The Department of Health Sciences (DHS) was founded in 2011. Through cutting-edge, interdisciplinary teaching and research, DHS strives to be a transformative program that addresses complex health challenges and improves quality of life for all people. What started out small has now developed into the most popular major at the University of Missouri. We now have more than 1800 students and 3165 alumni. DHS offers students amazing experiences and opportunities inside and outside of the classroom – Alternative Breaks, study abroad, internships, the DHS Mentor Program, and undergraduate research. It has been rewarding to see the career choices of our graduates. From continuing their education to obtain graduate degrees, to working to develop solutions to complex problems in health and health care in a variety of health administration, policy and service positions, DHS alumni fill critical roles in the work force.
