Dr. SungWoo Kahng Department Chair & Associate Professor was recently appointed to Organization for Autism Research (OAR)’s Scientific Council. As a member of this council, Dr. Kahng will be involved in influencing OAR’s research and programs directions. Dr. Kahng will be involved in the review, evaluation, and identification of autism research studies through OAR’s two research grants programs, one for applied researchers and the other for graduate student-directed research. OAR aims to support self-advocates and families through scholarships, applied research and other services. Since 2001 OAR has applied research to the challenges of autism and worked to spread the new and useful information they have collected. Research is led by OAR’s Scientific Council, a group of sixteen leading autism and medical professionals from across the country. The council assists the Board of Directors in developing the research strategy and provide expert information on current practices.
