Since the 1980s, MU Health Psychology faculty have been committed to pre-doctoral training. Current training offerings include pediatric psychology and neuropsychology, health psychology, and adult neuropsychology. We are a primary training site for the Missouri Health Sciences Psychology Consortium, an APA-accredited internship program, in collaboration with the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The MU Department of Health Psychology received an American Psychological Association (APA) Internship Award for its distinguished training program. This award was given to only three recipients out of 600-plus APA approved internship programs. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has consistently funded our internship program in recognition of excellence in interdisciplinary pre-doctoral training.
