The School of Health Professions Dean’s Office works to support the mission, vision and strategic plan of the school and its departments and programs. The dean’s office is comprised of the Office of the Dean, including the Associate Deans, and the key support areas of Student Services, Business Office, Human Resources, Advancement, and Marketing and Communication.

Advancement is the combined effort of alumni relations and development with the goal of keeping Health Professions faculty, staff, students, alumni, clients, patients and friends engaged in the mission of the school. Advancement Officer Michelle Custer supports the school, departments and programs with their efforts to keep alumni involved and engaged by hosting donor recognition and alumni events, meeting with alumni and donors and sharing our stories in alumni communities. She is also the school’s liaison with the Mizzou Alumni Association.
The Business Office provides budget and fiscal support to the school and its units, and acts as a liaison between department administrators and university business and fiscal staff. Beth Walter is Senior Director of Program/Project Operations and Tammy Winfrey is Director, Business Administration and Fiscal Officer.
The School of Health Professions is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. We strive for inclusive excellence in all of our programs and functions. Tommy Thomas III is our diversity initiatives coordinator.
The Human Resources office provides oversight and best practices for recruitment, employee relations and training and development. Under the direction of Sara Carmer, HR provides expertise in the areas of policy interpretation, position classification and reclassification, and salary and wage guidelines. Sara is a liaison between Health Professions units and campus HR. She also serves as a resource for department administrators in regards to day-to-day HR activities.
The communication and marketing office is responsible for strategy development and implementation in support of the school and its departments and programs. The team creates communication plans that include advertising, marketing, public relations, traditional and social media, brand management, and identity and graphic standards. We coordinate with the MU Joint Office for Strategic Communication & Marketing and MU Health Marketing and Communications to leverage stories about our teaching, research and service, and to actively promote the activities of our faculty, staff, students and alumni. We are the liaison between the School of Health Professions, MU News Bureau and members of the media, and can arrange for media training for faculty. We also prepare formal statements and other official school communication for distribution to local and national media and other key constituents. Angela Dahman is the director of strategic communication and marketing.
The Office of Student Services in the School of Health Professions is committed to helping students succeed. We provide comprehensive services for students and guidance for parents and faculty in the areas of recruitment, scholarships, admissions, advising, retention, graduation, and career and professional development. The director of Student Services is Cody Baggett.
