CSD Researcher Explores Voice Treatment

SHP's Dr. Maria Dietrich's study titled “Exploring the neural bases of primary muscle tension dysphonia: A case study using fMRI” in press in Journal of Voice, a collaboration with the University of Utah, is a case study of a patient with primary muscle tension dysphonia scanned pre and post successful voice treatment. As predicted by researchers, parsing the role of heightened limbic functioning and motor inhibition networks remains central to better understanding this voice disorder. Read the full study HERE.
