A new course made its debut in the Spring 2017 semester: Medical Diagnostics & Procedures. The course was designed to introduce 3rd-year athletic training students to medical skills routinely encountered in athletic training. With a focus on diagnostic imaging, suturing, venipuncture, sterile procedures and injections, the course gives students the opportunity to further develop clinical skills that will allow them to practice at the top of their licenses after graduation. Athletic training faculty partnered with the School of Medicine and the Sinclair School of Nursing to provide a collaborative educational experience that mirrors the clinical practice settings our students will soon find themselves working in.
