Dustin Germain Receives First “SHP Top Dog” Award

The SHP Staff Advisory Council Subcommittee on staff recognition has joined together with the Dean’s office to create a new monthly award to recognize SHP staff for their hard work and dedication to the school. This traveling SHP Top Dog trophy will be awarded monthly to a staff member dedicated to supporting the SHP mission and the four core values of the University of Missouri.

The inaugural Top Dog award winner is Dustin Germain of student services. Dustin was recognized for “keeping us afloat” during and after the great flood of 2017. Dustin went above and beyond working late hours to help salvage office equipment, coordinated cleanup efforts, and renovations, and helped find additional space for those who were displaced. Dustin was surprised with this award during the monthly department administrators meeting.

“I feel honored to receive the first SHP Top Dog award. I’ll relish this trophy for the month and look forward to seeing the next worthy recipient when I hand it off,” said Dustin, after receiving the award.

To nominate a colleague, email the SHP SAC with the name of the person you wish to nominate and a brief statement of why you believe this person is an SHP “Top Dog.”
