Mike McElhinney, MS, LAT, ATC, has joined the Athletic Training Program as a part-time instructor. As a faculty member, Mike will teach and co-instruct several of our courses, participate in the development of the program, and act as a profession and career advisor to the students.
In 2006, Mike received his BA in Athletic Training from the University of Northern Iowa and he earned a MS in Athletic Training, while working as a Graduate Assistant, from West Virginia University in 2008. Mike’s athletic training experience is in multiple sports and, since the summer of 2014, he has worked with MOI as a PRN Athletic Trainer for the Show Me State Games. As a healthcare professional, Mike has a passion for emergency medicine that stems from his experience as an EMT-B from 2003-2006. His teaching experience includes being a certified instructor in CPR & First Aid, he has taught Anatomy and Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries at William Woods and also has experience as a teaching assistant in Practicum, Rehabilitation and Emergency Care courses.
