Involvement and Leadership

  • Volunteer Opportunities
  • Student Organizations: The SHP Student Council (StuCo) is open to all undergraduate, graduate (including pre-professional and professional) students in SHP. SHP StuCo holds meetings once/month during the fall and spring semesters, is involved in community service projects, hosts social events and will bring in guest speakers. Check back for meeting announcements and updates. | Learn more about SHP StuCo.
  • Academic Program Organizations: All academic programs in SHP have their own student organization. Some academic programs require that students be admitted to the professional program to be eligible to join the student organization, while some are open to pre-professional students. Students are encouraged to check with their program to determine eligibility.
  • Dean's Team: The SHP Dean's Team is an organization of graduate and undergraduate SHP student members of the Mizzou Alumni Association True Tigers.  Students may request applications at anytime throughout the school year; however, new members are accepted early in each fall semester.  Student members commit to participation in a leadership development program sponsored by the SHP Alumni Organization and the Dean's Office.  Each student member is assigned an alumni mentor.  Additional information, including contact information, is available at shp.missouri.edu/alumni.
  • SHP Student Ambassadors: The SHP Student Ambassadors represent the school at high school recruitment events, SHP special events and other functions. Students must apply to be ambassadors and participate in the ambassador training. Applications are typically available during the winter intersession, and calls for applications are sent by e-mail to all SHP Students. The time commitment is typically 10-15 hours per semester. SHP accepts students from all levels and programs to apply to the ambassador program.
