COMPASS

Compass Logo. To guide. To Lead. To Succeed.

"As mentors, we should share our experience to better prepare students for their futures. Students give us the enthusiasm and inspiration to continue our own learning as well."
- Pamela Linke, BHS ’82, MA ‘93

The School of Health Professions is launching a unique program to connect current SHP students and alumni through a special mentorship program. Through COMPASS – Creating Opportunities through Mentoring and a Passion for Achieving Student Success – SHP alumni have the opportunity to assist students in navigating their college experience by giving advice, guidance, and support over one academic year. The mentor and student will embark on a journey with student success as the destination.

Participants of COMPASS will receive monthly e-mails with conversation starters, discussion topics, and ideas to start their journey together. Periodically throughout the program, checkpoint surveys will be sent to participants to allow them to provide feedback on how the program is going. The mentoring relationship should be driven by the mentor and student, but if help is needed, either participant may contact The Office of Alumni & Constituent Relations for assistance.
